November 20th, 2008

By Stephen Tsai
Kahuku safety Kamalani Alo yesterday accepted a UH football scholarship.
Alo is 6 feeet 1 1/2 and 200 pounds.
He is capable of running 40 yards in under 4.6 seconds.
Alo played cornerback last year, and outside linebacker and safety this season.
"He can cover ground," Kahuku coach Reggie Torres said. "That's why we moved him to safety. His speed is phenomenal."
Alo is a multi-skilled member of the track team. He competes in the 100-meter dash, 110 hurdles, 4x100 relay, shot put and discus.
He is a sweeper in soccer.
"He's got great ability, and it's all based on his work ethic," Torres said. "He's not afraid to train."

November 20th, 2008 at 3:09 am
G'mornin Bulla! Insane is as insane, um, posts.

November 20th, 2008 at 3:14 am
Nocturnal Urinal is a great name for a band. Maybe a Spinal Tap side project.
It's decision time: stop grading and go to sleep, or just stay up until it's time to go to practice. Wish now that I hadn't drank that Monster.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:15 am
ooooops,
gotta roll, will check back in, gotta make like a ref, got a call about a domestic on the 22nd floor, don't need no Batman action over the edge

November 20th, 2008 at 3:17 am
Eh, I still here. No Esme action from me. I just type slow at this hour.

November 20th, 2008 at 4:35 am
Wet morning all!
Dang. We are now over 5" ahead in rainfall for November but still a bunch of inches short for the year. Now it would only fall as snow in the mountains we will not have to worry about water over the summer.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:37 am
Need to open the tap to Kahuku a bit more!
Yay for Kamalani!!! Awesome.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:38 am
No way I am going to get anywhere near close to the Bulla-meister in number of posts.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:38 am
I always run out of stuff to say.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:42 am
Looks like the US auto makers are going under. Even more unemployed people. I wonder if this administration will raise the budget for social services or leave it as another problem for the next bunch of administrations.
November 20th, 2008 at 5:17 am

November 20th, 2008 at 6:08 am
Welcome to the Warriors Kamalani Alo!
November 20th, 2008 at 6:14 am
Mike,
I think my longest post string wasn't about free play links--I think it was when I was on a business trip in DC and found a ton of articles in 2007 about the Warriors who had been drafted by the NFL or were in NFL camps (Samson, Ikaika, Nate, etc.).
November 20th, 2008 at 6:16 am
Article about Idaho's lack of depth...that should be good for the Warriors, especially as the game goes along.
November 20th, 2008 at 6:17 am
This University of Idaho graduate sure doesn't seem to respect UH much in his article.
November 20th, 2008 at 6:18 am
Quote from Bess about the importance of chemistry on offense.
November 20th, 2008 at 6:20 am
The New England media wrote about Bess being a returner against the Patriots.
November 20th, 2008 at 6:21 am
Another article about Bess' return stats this season.
November 20th, 2008 at 6:24 am

COLT WATCH!
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/82875-jason-campbell-vs-colt-brennan-v2
by Travis Evans (Contributor)
November 17, 2008
NFL, Jason Campbell, Colt Brennan, Preview/Prediction
This is my second article about Brennan and Campbell. Campbell has made me sway his way a little more, but Brennan holds the advantage 67 percent—33 percent over Campbell.
Brennan
1. Was the top or second QB in draft but then had a bad game vs. Georgia, who just publicly stated the objective was to GET BRENNAN.
2. I think Brennan will flourish under this offense because of his timing and release.
3. He is more mobile and isn't afraid to try and fit the ball into that tight spot. (All great QBs have had this attribute.)
4. The comparisons to the greats are what Brennan got but Campbell has got zip, zodda, zilch.
5. Broke record.
6. Preseason may just be practice but that spiral...ugh I was drooling.
7. Reminds me of a no dog fighting Mike Vick.
8. THE MOST ACCURATE QB IN THE COMBINE IN RECENT YEARS ONLY MISSED ONE PASS AND IT WAS A DROP
Campbell
1. Had an OK year so far but just hasn't proven to me he is the future.
2. He can't throw the deep ball for anything. Moss had a sure TD but it was under thrown and he had to adjust or drop it.
3. Less mobile and slower thinker.
4. May have a stronger arm.
5. Has chemistry.
6. Zorn is the ingredient to success, not him.
Therefore I give the advantage to Brennan. Plus it may have been preseason, but in the near future you will hear Brennan to Moss for a TD/ Brennan to Thomas/Kelly for TD.

KAMALANI ALO, WELCOME TO THE WARRIOR FAMILY AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR STELLA CARRER AT UH.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:11 am
Congrats to Kahuku's Coaches, another D-1 player!
November 20th, 2008 at 7:13 am
Morning, Tsaiko-Nation and Tsai-Meister.
Looks like the recruiting train just keeps on rolling. The success we're having sofar has never been seen before at UH.
I have the feeling that quite a few of those DB's will become linebackers in the future. Let's keep it humming.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:21 am
Good Morning Tsaiko-land! Hope everyone has a great day!
November 20th, 2008 at 7:56 am

November 20th, 2008 at 8:32 am
pretty good list, thx MIH
don't know if i heard it right but sure sounded on CTC on tuesday that Nobriga was the guy coach was talking about when saying something to the tune of certain player's dad is 99.9% sure he wants his son to come to Hawaii but just wnats him to take all his visits first. Coach Mac went on to say that's fine but at a certain point, you're gonna have to get off the fence and make a firm committment or we're gonna have to move on. Hope all the soft commits make it a hard commit as soon as possible.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:56 am
for all you peeps that thought about goin to the bj/gsp press conference tomorrow, been moved to the blaisdell rather than the shell cuz of the rain. hope the rain at least subsides for a little come saturday nite

November 20th, 2008 at 10:23 am
g'morning gangeeez,
ok, that was a valiant try earlier, but no worries beef curries....it was fun. i will no way ever in this life match up to the efforts of our very own Garret, haha.
mahalo for all the well wishes, going to Ogden to get a victory for those Wildcats. 4 years ago, this team had 1 win, this season they should be 10-2 with losses to #7 Utah, and UH..... not too shabby.
Playoffs, here we come.....followed by Bulla and Lyn's weekly car wash at Waialae Chevron to offset the expenditures.....haha. Was it worth it....bet your arse....would we do it again....in a nano second!
GO WARRIORS
GO WILDCATS (X2)
November 20th, 2008 at 10:57 am
hey bulla,
do you train high school athletes at enchanted lakes during the week? if so, what's that all about?
November 20th, 2008 at 11:21 am
Almost pau recruiting! Can't wait for next year!
Good day all!
curveball and al - still haven't found my glove yet...may have to bust out a new one from storage.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:29 am
I was watching the Oct. Kahuku vs. Farrington regular season game on the OC16 sports website and it looks like Alo has good speed and quickness off the edge. He is also adept at man coverage. Yep, he'd be a good SS or OLB.
GO WARRIORS
GO WAHINE VB
November 20th, 2008 at 11:30 am
Hmmm, can I surpass Bulla's posting record?
November 20th, 2008 at 11:31 am
Speaking of Bulla, have a safe and enjoyable trip! Lyn too!
November 20th, 2008 at 11:32 am
When are we supposed to see the Princess videos?
Hi FAYE!
November 20th, 2008 at 11:33 am
I wonder if it pours rain this Saturday will it be the equalizer? The Warriors RB corps are thin. Can they sustain a running game?
November 20th, 2008 at 11:34 am
Turnovers will be a huge factor. Who can hang on to a slippery football better?
November 20th, 2008 at 11:35 am
Anyone into SUP? Anyone in the paddleboard industry?
November 20th, 2008 at 11:36 am
Haven't seen Esme in a while...When I think of her I somehow picture two traffic cones...
November 20th, 2008 at 11:38 am
It's been a couple of weeks since I last saw a Tsaiko, I wonder if any of them lost or gained weight and are unrecognizable?
November 20th, 2008 at 11:39 am
Oh wait, I did see Leila and Faye and they still look mahvalous.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:41 am
Just in case, to prevent duplicates, I'm bringing fried saimin (fried noodles) from Mililani Restaurant this Saturday. I think it's something Rob25 can eat.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:42 am
Isn't Idaho last in the WAC in offense? For sure the planets and stars are out of the alignment should they go cosmic against the Warrior D.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:42 am
so when u going to announce the RB verbal?
November 20th, 2008 at 11:43 am
I'm talking aloud as I'm typing and the dogs are tilting their heads like I'm nutz.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:44 am
Damn! String broken!
November 20th, 2008 at 11:45 am
As Audrina says on The Hills, "I'm done".
November 20th, 2008 at 11:49 am
Ooooo...thanks homester! I like fried saimin! All noodles are good! I don't have to worry about some weird animal part.
I'm bringing lasagna!

Why can't I hit the progressive on the Wheel of Fortune?
November 20th, 2008 at 11:50 am
cheepono, #92
no, that's not me at enchanted lakes, but i heard of someone doing some NIKE SPARQ training over there.
SPARQ has some good techniques and great ideas. they have a free website, just google nike sparq and see what happens. i thing that person charges a fee for their services; i'd recommend doing the website first and see what it's all about
November 20th, 2008 at 11:52 am
Have a safe and victorious trip Bulla and Lyn!
November 20th, 2008 at 11:56 am

Safe and enjoyable trip and successful game for Weber State and "The Beast".
Keep warm - temps look "cold" - brrrrrrrrrrr.

November 20th, 2008 at 12:28 pm
Oh jojo...are you going to try and get me to eat something gross?
Stop pulling a homey!! hahaha
Wait...I'm finally going to meet you at a tailgate?
November 20th, 2008 at 12:34 pm
to all the tsaiko ohana,
mahalo for the kind words and good wishes; whew, i think my middle name should be Delta by now.....what the heck, you only go once.....let it ride.
final season game, a big win would be nothing short of awesome for the Wildcats, but here's a story only a father would appreciate, and a nutz one like me at that.
Coach: hey bulla, did ryan talk to you about his shoulder?
Bulla: yeah, he said he heard a little pop and went to see the trainer.
Coach: well, that pop he heard was his left shoulder separating at practice.....
Bulla: how bad is it?
Coach: not bad, we put it back in place and he'll be fine by game time
Bulla: So what did ryan tell you about the shoulder coach?
Coach: your son is nutz, he told me the trainer said that he separated his left shoulder....but he told the trainer 'i still have my right one though....right?'
Bulla: that's my son, he has a high threshold for pain, it scares me
Coach: i know, the trainer said he could still do the rotation exercises with the shoulder separated, and when asked if it hurt, Ryan told the trainer, 'pain is a concept of the mind, and i am not allowing myself to think of pain right now....' so the trainer told him if it felt weird, and ryan told the trainer, 'if i say it feels weird, will you keep me out of the game on Saturday?'
Coach: the trainer got pissed and said, 'Eastman, you separated your shoulder, now let's get to work on it, and no i won't keep you out of the game on saturday
Ryan: thanks, i don't have to use my left side, i can favor my right and still play if i have to....and can i get 2 cortisone shots, i don't want to feel anything til after the game...shoot man, it's history!!!
now that was funny.
November 20th, 2008 at 12:40 pm
Bulla - If only all men could have that threshold for pain...then all of us women could stop giving birth and hand that duty over to the men!
That's a great story!
November 20th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
Good Afternoon Tsaikos!!
How come no more practice report today??
November 20th, 2008 at 12:48 pm
My bad...I meant to direct this to Hiflyer!
I guess I will be watching on TV as I am still feeling groggy from being up all night on Monday!
GO WAHINE VB
What, am I homey now?
November 20th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
Stretch...he has to be at practice to give a report.
I bet he had detention for getting his son to school late...again!
November 20th, 2008 at 12:57 pm
Rob 25,
well put rob 25, no wonder i've been jealous of the opposite gender all this time, hahahaha
November 20th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
Great Day All!
Good news keeps coming in about the future of Warrior football.
Bulla,
Great story. I can well imagine Ryan saying those things.
Having watched him battle in the trenches since Frosh Football, it always amazes me how he keeps battling from kick-off thru final whistle. The Timex Man! (Don't think the young 'uns will understand that one.)
I hope both of you enjoy your trip. We're envious, although the good news for us is that #2 son comes back in 4 days!
Safe passage; see you when you get back!
GO WARRIORS!
GO WILDCATS! (X2)
November 20th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
Homey ~ Mebbe you should tell Rob$25 the truth about the fried noodles. I don't think she realizes that there are sliced animal parts and questionable sliced fishy cake stuff in there for flavor.
Jojo is bringing some exotic squid stuff too! MMMmmmMMM!
November 20th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
Homes ~ A Korean friend once made us some Oyster Kim Chee. I'm still trying to find someone who can duplicate that recipe. The raw oyster poke you brought to the t-gate was the closest I've tasted to date.
Betty?...Is there a chance you would know?
November 20th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
OK so this morning on 1500 Russell Yamanoha claims that the MWC is a better conference than the WAC. I will agree that maybe this year they are a better football conference, but the bottom of their conference isn't much better than the WAC if at all.
He was getting on my nerves as I was driving in. He looks down at Hawaii and the WAC for whatever reasons. I can't believe how negative he is about Hawaii...and he's the color guy!
Rob DeMello was right about if all those teams that left the WAC had stayed we would be a pretty powerful conference. Hawaii is just never gonna get a break because of our geographical disadvantage.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Kekoa
will jojo actually show up, you know it's supposed to be rainy on saturday.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:16 pm
Hi Kekoa!
For the record, I don't have a problem with all animal parts. I have a problem with eating those closest to the rear end (because pork butt isn't actually from the pig's butt), the feet, the digestive system and internal organs. I'm all for eating their muscles and skin! For some inexplicable reason, I don't have a problem eating fish cake (kamaboko). Don't know why. Don't like chocolate and milk but love chocolate milk and chocolate ice cream. Go figure!
November 20th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
How's Pops doing?
I sure hope that he is feeling better! Give him a big hug and kiss for me! Love seeing him at the tailgates and games!
November 20th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
Rob25:
and you know what? Hawaii is slowly moving "away" from the West Coast and at some great time in the future, you will be able to step unto Japan.
so say all the geologists who study tectonic plates.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:23 pm
Rob25:
If Russell is SOOOOOOOOO negative about UH, will we see a replacement for him next year? Maybe, he should apply for a position with the MWC.
I cannot phantom UH asking K-5 to keep him on the job. Didn't this happen to another sports person who did something some time back?
November 20th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
wafan:
Just for your info, I called Shirokiya and electronics manger said Toshiba
no longer makes DVD/VCR recorder players.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
The Dallas Morning News seems to think like ST about who the MWC would invite to join them.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
It appears that BYU is behind the push to invite BSU to the MWC. I remember last year BSU's President said that he wrote to each MWC President to ask them to invite BSU to the MWC and the BSU President said that only BYU's President wrote back to him. That makes this news not too surprising, I guess.
It is interesting to me that they *confirmed* that a MWC school sent a letter to BSU's President. So, that part is definitely not just a rumor.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
Interesting that BSU has done very well against the top of the MWC. They are undefeated against BYU (I wish UH could say that!) and Utah only beat them when BSU was in D-IAA.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:40 pm
Oh good! I'll bring pig head!
November 20th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
A-House
Maybe I am too much of a homer. I don't think that the local sports people have to always shine a positive light on UH, I just think that they don't always have to knock them...just like people do the Dept of Ed in this state.
I always feel like a student is going to be successful wherever they are based on their desire and work to do well in school. Yes, there are other factors like opportunities and facilities, etc but many students flourish under less than ideal circumstances.
UH is not a bad school and too many local people are always disrespecting it. UH has many wonderful graduates. Too bad more of them don't support the athletic programs.
OK, I'm stepping off the box. It was just that Russell seems to sound like Jeff Portnoy at times.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
make sure get the eyes attached so the pig can look at your while you are eating it
November 20th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
November 20th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Bulla,
OMG! Tough kid you got there.
koakane,
What kind of beeru do you drink?
November 20th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Lucky you, you get to eat lunch twice.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:51 pm
Oops
November 20th, 2008 at 1:51 pm
I think he is busy playing with the kids so I will answer. "cold"
November 20th, 2008 at 1:54 pm
The RB is not Gabe Tuata.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:55 pm
MeiLing...
Koakane drinks the kind that comes in bottles! Nah!
He probably isn't lurking because AT&T decided to SUCK today. They better reimburse me! They can make a donation to the athletic department on my behalf...just like Oceanic.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:55 pm
Does anyone know how long it takes to digest kidney beans??
November 20th, 2008 at 1:55 pm
thanks for a little hint tsai.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
MeiLing...
He really likes free beer also!
November 20th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Wet.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
whoa ST is alive - ooops forgot he had to teach today so that's why the practice report is late.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Re: Sports critics.
I think people are entitled to say whatever they wish to say as long as they have proper knowledge of the entire situation.
There are a lot of things that happen that aren't known to the general public but are easily accessible to certain people. It helps to go to practice; it helps even more to ask questions.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
ST, what positions are the coaches still looking at filling with the last scholarships?
November 20th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
For instance, Myki and sjmacro actually know a lot more than some public people because they're at every practice. They also understand that some things are done that don't make sense today but will in the future.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
They're looking at two really good offensive linemen.
They also are in on a big-time offensive player.
They're done recruiting quarterbacks for this year, it seems, even though one just became available.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
One of these days I hope to make it to practice with sj & myki. They are hardcore!!
November 20th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
Rob★ - My dad would get the grill going and start carving the meat and skin off of the pig head and we would grill it then cut it up in pieces and eat it with a shoyu chili peppa sauce...so ono!
Just spoke with koakane...he said no Miller Lite!
Kidney beans just turn to gas.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
So I see the Punahou QB is available.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
keep feeding us!
November 20th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
sj and myki are my Avery informants.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:11 pm
is the big time offensive players a wide receiver? Also can you say who is visiting this weekend?
November 20th, 2008 at 2:12 pm
sj was getting into the game on Monday night/Tuesday morning. OK, it was really Tuesday morning.
Another good thing is that myki brings snacks and she shares with everyone. Thanks myki!
November 20th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Timing is so important in QB'ing and in life....
November 20th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Wooooohoooo..........
Good size for a strong safety. I think UH has also taken care of special teams in the future.
Good to see the amount of players representing a lot of local high schools on the team.
I am still waiting on that big time running back. I think the best running back coming out of high schools this year is Manti Te'o.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
I recall reading somewhere that it's actually something on the beans that causes the gas. If you soak them before using them then no mo' gas.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
Rob##,
Nark!
November 20th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
A-House, what exactly are you looking for? I read your post from the other day and I couldn't quite tell if you were looking for a VHS vcr that you could use to play your tapes into your dvd recorder or if you were looking for a new dvd recorder because your laser died out. I know you were concerned because the new models couldn't accept a straight coaxial connection.
Anyway, depending upon what you are looking for, I may have some ideas. For me, I use a dvd recorder with a hard drive to record the games and then edit out the commercials before I burn to disc. Unfortunately, they no longer manufacture dvd recorders with built in hard drives.
I'm not sure what
November 20th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
I need binoculars so that I can check out the recruits this weekend!
November 20th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
A-house,
That's the end of your free consultation!
November 20th, 2008 at 2:38 pm
I'm gonna start soaking my jelly beans.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
I wonder if WarriorMojo comes to the T-gate will Koakane mistake him for L10pc?
lab rat - yep, Te'o is one of the best running back.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
homey,
http://www.angulodesigns.com/
I play golf with Ed. Need a board?
November 20th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
Wow! Stand up surfing from Maui to Oahu?
....and all the way to Waianae, no less!
November 20th, 2008 at 2:48 pm
Does WarriorMojo sing country, too?
November 20th, 2008 at 2:49 pm
Rob25 about Russell Yamanoha, he seemed that way even when CB and crew where here. Sorry I know that some don't like it but dang I want a homer calling the games.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
Rob25,
That wouldn't be a commentary on the size of the recruits, would it?
November 20th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
Pomai,
I have never really understood the "beef" that people have about a "homer calling the games".
It's our games! Of course, I want to hear good stuff about our team!
November 20th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
duffer - Just saw some of the prices...
November 20th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
Homey,
Well, we do have the economy model that comes with the Duckie float ring to use while you wait for the Coast Guard to get you.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
RE: Newly available QB
So if it really is the one that committed to NM, what you think he going do now? Walk-on to UH or go DII?
Wait, I smell Da Weasel and Chow..................................=)
November 20th, 2008 at 3:04 pm
XxFaithxX,
That would be surprising. IMHO anyway.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
D1Shima: I would not be surprised, just look at some of the HS players that have offered. The teammate(s) and his neighbors of the 4th ranked HS prospect in the country. They do have possible D1 skills, but it just smells fishy to me.../shrug Ima a WARRIOR HOMER...sorry.
Now I know some may feel that I am looking into things too much, but this kind of recruiting happens all the time. Look at how many prospects that UH recruits too. A lot of them from the same team and or a relative somehow connected to UH. D1 football is a BUSINESS, plain and simple. Coaches don't get hired for the amount of players that they graduate, they get hired for how many wins and accolades they can get. You get the players any way you can and all the whole try to make yourself look wholesome....sad, but true.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
Ok, pau work! weekend time!!!!!!!!!!!!
latas peeps.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
#23 Miami playing Paul Johnson's Georgia Tech on ESPN. First quarter. No score.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
d1島 -
I hope that I didn't inadvertently say that because they are small. I just like to try and pick them out on the field and I haven't taken binoculars in years.
Pomai - You are right about RY doing that even last year. I don't care if they aren't homers but I surely don't want them dissing the team all the time. I'd rather have a homer!
November 20th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
Georgia Tech 3, Miami 0. First quarter. 5:53.
Watching the game on my computer, but I have to re-write my notes from a training session this morning. Trouble is, I can't read some of my writing. Trying to write my notes and watching the game is making my notes kapakahi.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
S-uSS - How much is it?
November 20th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
mad dog
don't get the two confused and put the score from the game in your notes.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
No football practice report?
November 20th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
I wonder if the potential RB recruit is from California?
November 20th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
How about them basketball Bows? I read that they are practicing their jumpers to beat the zone defense. How about more practice in breaking down a defense with screens, movement, passing, and taking the ball to the hoop. Oops, sorry, the homey coaching devil appeared on my left shoulder. Back to reality...
November 20th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
Hmmm, can I get to 200 by myself?
November 20th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
Anyone else think that Nevada will take down Boise?
November 20th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
They played a great game last season.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
199
November 20th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
Homey
what no work today.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
200
November 20th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
could happen, but will it cost us .5 mil?
November 20th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
DAMN! Missed it!
HiFlyer - I work everyday. Just take a lot of vacation...
November 20th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
homey
got you, I doing the same thing this week.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
.5 million, win some lose some.
al - so you bringing your glove too?
November 20th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
whatever happened to the safety recruit from LB
November 20th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
I don't mind if Nevada takes down Boise. I have a respectful dislike for the Smurfs because they are always good. Sort of like the BYU days. I don't care if Nevada ruins the WAC's BCS money.
By the way, Georgia Tech scored on an interception. Georgia Tech 10, Miami 0. Second Quarter, 13:28
November 20th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
homey.....bball needs to play more three man or triangle offense. our 3-4-5 guys could out quick most teams i think.
it is obvious we didn't recruit any pure shooters. our best outside shot is our center.
farfetched but, maybe their best shooter is beau albrechtson of kaimuki.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
Too bad there isn't a basketball court next to the cabana. Can play a game of h-o-r-s-e or go one-on-one with A-Sports.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
Mad Dog
yeah and GT tries an onside kick that Miami recovers for good field pos.
Well GT just int Miami again.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
t-boy.....check the sidelines this weekend. interestingly, cottonwood hs of utah and lb poly will play their playoff games on friday(tomw). which means some of them may be tripping this weekend. especially if mack wants a commitment by this weekend. let's see they could fly in late friday or early saturday and do the visit and fly back sunday or monday.
bring your binocs to the game.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
al - Lakers offense? No use be quick if you can't beat your man off of the dribble drive.
takoboy - Alo does line up like an outside linebacker on the line of scrimmage on most plays. In the spread he covers the slotback.
Mad Dog - Yeah, I'd like to see Nevada run wild over Boise.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
my current want list...
stan hasiak?
JC OT
Bradley Randle
Stanjarivus McKay
JC Safety
November 20th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
thanx guyz will bring da binocs this weekend, hope to see mckay, GDL, and Tepa on the field, and hope even more for good news next week from them. do we have a recruit from cottonwood...
November 20th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
Don't care about the BCS money if it goes through Boise.
Let the Wolfpack take the ponies down!
I would like to see the BB team take it to the hoop. They were getting very little penetration in the two games that I saw. And what is with BB players that don't want to take a shot? We can't score if you don't get the ball somewhere near the hoop.
homey - Be careful what you wish for. Asports could probably take you in a game of hoops and if she didn't, she would get you with her leadfoot or her darts.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
is there any substance to the hasiak rumors?
i mean it's one thing that he possibly de-committed from ucla...
but if i recall correctly, we were never in the running for his service. i would be ecstatic if we did land him, but at the same time i can't remember a time when we were even a consideration.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
Rob25 - You sure know your bb!!! I not scared of leadfoot!!! Well maybe the lead poisoning.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
cheepono - Hasiak is a very good player. If he changes his mind and becomes a Warrior more power to him. If not, then good luck to him at his future school.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
all is fair in love, war, and recruiting.
got to remember these are young men barely 17-18 who are trying to make a life changing decision. anything can happen.
like the old standard (song that is), "what a difference a day makes......."
if a few more blue chip local boys do an about face and accept the warrior program, this will be the heaviest local recruiting year ever. and it will, well it already has, spell trouble for all the would be mainland poachers like oregon state, etc in the future.
the man of his word did in fact be true to his early commitment to the local kids first.
coach mack attack era is on.
...nuff said.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Sorry, took a nap, and the next thing I know it's almost 4 p.m.
On the target list: Two OLs, two offensive players (is that vague enough?), two defensive players (more vagueness) and a cornerback.
They also are after a punter and kicker, but, at this time, those two will be walk-ons.
One of the grayshirts might have to come in the fall to meet certain requirements.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
homey - I don't really know much about BB, but I know enough from watching Shaq drive it inside to know that you can get a lot of fouls called on the other team that way. It seems like this year's team is much better as a team with their free throws.
I also know our "big man" from Lithuania shoots it long distance but maybe Sasha should wait to shoot unconscious threes when he finds his stroke in a game. I want to see Nitoto shoot the ball more!
November 20th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
Jesse Williams is supposed to come in January, but there might be a problem with the deadline. I think mid-years needed to declare their availability by late October. I know Billy Ray Stutzmann made the deadline.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
keep feeding stephen. the fans are hungry!
November 20th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
I was too preoccupied with my notes ("what the heck did I write? Now I know why my mother always criticized my poor penmanship.") that I didn't notice the score. Georgia Tech 24, Miami 3 Second quarter 1:59
November 20th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
Sorry for not mentioning it earlier, but the Georgia Tech/Miami game is at

November 20th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
thanks ST. i knew i couldn't wait until next week.
would one of those olinemen and one of those defensive persons have at least one same initial?
i am thinking running back but now two makes it interesting. if we were after only one yes for sure the aforementioned. now two, so that means that here is one who you just can't pass up because he is soooo good.
....(smack, smack, smack....as in licking my chops)
November 20th, 2008 at 4:37 pm
rob25.....i think we are better served with nitoto dishing the ball and playing tough defense.
the past two years sasha shot the ball with not too much efficiency so that hasn't gotten worse this year.
we have a team who would do well running and taking it to the hoop as often as we can rather setting up a perimeter shot. the fast break should be their main weapon and to do that they have to play tough defense and out rebound the opponent.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:37 pm

Oh al, I thought that you were kissing ST. Good thing you noted otherwise.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:40 pm
Just bring plenty dry clothes, towels, and make sure we get da hot soup after da game...no big deal over a little warm rain.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:42 pm
Are both Olinemen JC's or is one of them a high school kid?
November 20th, 2008 at 4:55 pm
al - but Nitoto isn't a true point guard and he shoots pretty well. If only we could get Sasha to be under control and pass better. I like his energy though. Once Hiram gets healthy and in playing shape I would like to see Nitoto move back to his more natural position.
I agree about taking the game inside. They shoot free throws okay which is why I think that they need to be inside. I see a lot of standing around when they are on offense and nobody boxing out when they are under the basket. The rebounding was almost nonexistent a lot of the time.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
See ya later...gotta hit the road.
November 20th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
okay.....i agree that a healthy hiram thompson may be the answer at point guard. sasha plays hard, but, the point needs to play error free and have great court vision. nitoto was recruited as point guard. he will score more from driving the lane (under control) then anything else.
just my opinion though.
November 20th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
so we're looking at 7 more recruits still yet? that's awesome to hear.
2 ol
2 off. skill players
2 def. players
1 cb
seems like that's gonna take a lot of shuffling around regarding the #'s situation. i have 100% confidence mack and his staff will get the job done. go get em!
November 20th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
cheepono....i think one of the two defensive players is a cb.
it will be more interesting to see how we juggle all these recruits. seems like we may go over the limit, which will mean a couple of greyshirts. which for some would do them well. i always thought that if jc guy can come in and greyshirt or come in early as in december then they would have a spring under their belt to adjust to the bigger campus, academics, and speed of the game.
two more weekends and we should have them all under the roof.
November 20th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
not sure if this was brought up before....but, losing 32 seniors this year is good for recruiting.
losing at least a third of the roster creates many openings on all sides of the line of scrimmage. in particular it should be enticing for some highly regarded jc players.
November 20th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
Time for me to sneak away from work to get my wife a birthday present. Last update from me: Georgia Tech 34, Miami 10 Third quarter 4:08
Miami is having a difficult time stopping Paul Johnson's spread option attack. Georgia Tech has over 360 yards rushing so far. To be a success, the spread option requires a good defense to hold down the opposition. Georgia Tech's defense is harassing the Miami QB enough to affect their passing game.
November 20th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
one significant feature on our new recruits is that they all can run!
speed and more speed.
oh, and some really large lineman.
November 20th, 2008 at 5:32 pm
who's the miami qb? marve?
i don't get it with miami, notre dame, washington, et al. they recruit year after year the best players and yet........
November 20th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
Al-
I think we both have desires to see Mr. Marve rise above to stardom. And I still envision him wearing a Warrior uniform, but that is wasted energy.
He is a very good QB, wtih a program that will catch up to him soon.
He needs one more year ( and hopefully will grasp it) to excel past the pace of Southern ball.
November 20th, 2008 at 5:52 pm
ryan:
both OLs are JCs.
November 20th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
There's also a wideout from, let's say, the middle of the country.
November 20th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
Hmmm ...members on SportsHawaii say that Gary Dickman on his Animals show yesterday said that his source tells him that Stan withdrew his soft verbal from UCLA.
What does that suggest? Can we be hopeful?
November 20th, 2008 at 6:02 pm
Stan Hasiak, that is.
November 20th, 2008 at 6:14 pm
ST....
Is one of the JC Olinemen from Cali...specifically from the OC?....who's a bounceback from another WAC school?
Mahalo!!!
November 20th, 2008 at 6:17 pm
jesse williams will be a project. we will probably see him in a few years.
billy stutz coming in the spring is great news. other sight mentioned he does not look that fast!! WHAT.. ran a 10.9 as a soph. was injured last track season but was the 100, 200m champ as a soph. also read that he ran a 4.48 (yes that is sub 4.5) at a combine on the mainland.
think about that , bess was 4.67 stutzman is sub 4.5!
then we have Kalua Noa coming in who is fast and athletic. and corey's slot who is also a 4.5 guy.
SPEED KILLS BABY.
Bulla, you have confirmed this. you coached him, yes?
November 20th, 2008 at 6:22 pm
Hiya.
Homey- I always wanted to try pig head. I see them in the store but didn't know how to cook them right. The good one is the cow milk gut too I forget the Filipino name... Pulehu dat one. ONO!
OK. time to head home.
Oh- looks like we may have to bring our rubber boots to the T-gate and game, eh?
November 20th, 2008 at 6:34 pm
Okay, I'll play....
Highly regarded JC OL listing UH as one of their "schools of interest" include:
Wade Bowen, College of the Sequoias, Visalia, CA, 6-8/325/5.20 (This guy is HUGE!
)
Eric Sproal, Santa Ana JC, Santa Ana, CA, 6-4.5/300
Christian Browne-Frazier, Compton JC, Compton, CA, 6-3/286
Another monster OL candidate (not JC) is:
Danny Kistler, O'Dea HS, Seattle, WA, 6-7/316/5.20
November 20th, 2008 at 6:38 pm
brew808,
Will there be enough grub on the athletes tables to feed those guys? jeeze. I think we might need an even taller quarterback with those guys blocking
November 20th, 2008 at 6:40 pm
I think I'll start eating with Rob25, she seem more sensible in the things she is will to put into her mouth....
November 20th, 2008 at 6:47 pm
So.... is AZ or CO considered "middle of the country"? Or does it have to be Kansas?
November 20th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
Rob25: IDK, it looks to me like Nitoto doesn't have confidence in his outside shot. And I'm with al, I think he's more of a drive-to-the-basket scorer. His jump shot is awfully inconsistent.
As for the offense, I still say we gotta be patient. It's just like the run and shoot, it's a complicated offense. But yeah, we do need to do certain things better. Screens are awful, and the timing on the cuts are off. But slowly, you can tell they are getting better.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:02 pm
or Texas....
November 20th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
that kansas wr....er...midwesterner that is, may not be edgar theliar a transfer from the college of the desert....you know the one that played with rausch last year.
it could be his current teammate who is faster than he.
okay, with the two oline dudes from jc college ranks does that mean that the rb may also be from jc's??????
November 20th, 2008 at 7:04 pm
i wonder why we never kept recruiting blinn college? or navarro. there were a couple of awesome studs there this year.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
okay i gotta go now. time to go hunt for dinner.
should we pick up something around here or should we go pho? too bad i don't live near thelma's.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:08 pm
Didn't Theliar commit to Florida International? Why? That's another question!
Edgard Theliar, Butler County (KS), El Dorado, KS. 6-3/190
November 20th, 2008 at 7:09 pm
last one............it sure sounds like tsai is ready to pop the whistle on a new recruit doesn't. kind of his style you know.
btw, i wonder how the other paper feels about tsai out-scooping them all the time?????
November 20th, 2008 at 7:11 pm
verbal really don't mean a thing. but, i was hinting at his teammate.

November 20th, 2008 at 7:13 pm
Okay!
November 20th, 2008 at 7:14 pm
They need to get rid of the stand around and watch Nitoto dribble offense.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
... offense and defense and rebounding position and in-bounds plays...
November 20th, 2008 at 7:21 pm
ST:
Are you under a "gag order" from Coach Mack not to reveal the names of any recruit who will be visiting UH this weekend?
Sure sounds like it with all the generalities you are feeding us so we go crazy with anticipation.
Some day, tell Pauoa Boy and me why UH did not recruit Pauoa Boy's neighbor across the street or did he not want to come to UH?
With your OL comments, it appears that the Kapolei player is not included in the mix.
WR from middle of the country sounds like a Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska or Missouri land player. Or, are you saying middle of Oahu?
Can you tell us "how good he is" without breaking your promise to Coach Mack? No names, initials, etc. Just facts, thank you!
November 20th, 2008 at 7:21 pm
al,
Well even though I'm kinda close to Thelma's, I'm staying off the roads tonight. Be safe while you hunting for dindin...
Lots of interesting discussion about recruiting this afternoon/evening.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
A-house,
I was thinking "middle of the country" could be Waimanalo?
speaking of...wea stay G'nalo?
November 20th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
Well, just got summoned for my dinner.
Better go lest Mrs. d1島 starts fuming.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
d1:
Who's from Waimanalo?
Yea, where is G'nalo and Bighilofan2? You guys OK, but very busy and in good health?
BHF2 - will you and Mrs be joining us for any of the last 3 tailgates? Always nice to see/chat with you.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:31 pm
MSLiz ~ Check with Chris Fujita and see if you can bring his Kayak over. We could use it to mini-ferry all of us over to the stadium and back.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:34 pm
ahouse
just go walk down the street with a pot of beef curry and get the scoops from yer neighbor.
d1....i hope she doesn't go off fuming. ova hea she go flipping as in "out" if we no listen.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
too bad no more kilgo's. at least you could buy some galoshes there.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
I wanted to be a meteorologist when I was little because we'd always go to Kilgo's, and I'd pick up hurricane preparedness materials there. I'd track all the hurricanes that they'd show on the news.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:40 pm
Hagi?
November 20th, 2008 at 7:42 pm
It's going to be a bummer for all the recruits if they go to the game on Saturday and it's raining the whole time. Hopefully they will come up to the seats and I can check them out.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
potato chips
November 20th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
Stretch:
Maybe UH will provide them panchos to keep dry.
But, you right, it would be bummers, but it's better than 15 degrees and snow.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
wahines on tv, go wahines!
November 20th, 2008 at 7:59 pm
no more football tv news tonight for some reason.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:07 pm
Save me a place at your table, please. I eat veggies like french fries and onion rings too...
November 20th, 2008 at 8:22 pm
My Grandma thought Guy Hagi was a good looking man ... which was disturbing to hear from my Grandma.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:33 pm
at least your grandma doesn't like malika dudley or amber-lynn.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:42 pm

Great recruiting info in the blog! Thank you to ST, Al, brew808, and everyone else who contributed! I'm really looking forward to hearing who is brought to each of the last games and hopefully hearing about the final commits soon!
November 20th, 2008 at 8:53 pm
No.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:53 pm
Kekoa,
No rain in San Diego...it hasn't rained here for quite some time.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
eastside is dry right now.
not looking forward to the plane ride tomorrow morning. it gets a little bumpy riding through the rain and makes it hard to drink coffee and read the Advertiser.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
My kids haven't experienced rain for a long time, so they will probably be in for a surprise when we're in Hawaii!
November 20th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
I really respect Chad Pennington's work ethic, and how he gets his teammates on offense to work hard too.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:58 pm
Notre Dame's compliance guy had to tell their students to cancel the plans they had to try to help recruit Manti.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:59 pm
List of things that are banned...I hope that if the names get out of the recruits attending UH games that Warrior fans don't do any of these things!
November 20th, 2008 at 9:00 pm
...warm rain!
Garret - 23-28 or 24-28? I haven't seen the party plans posted yet.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
No rain in Salt Lake.
I'm really sleepy. I haven't recovered from Monday night's game. It threw me off this whole week.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
no rain, and no rail....
November 20th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
brew808,
I don't know if there will be any time for a gathering. The Tsaikos are going to be worn out between the two tailgates, the karaoke call, and the normal family things for Thanksgiving. So, it is my understanding that the timing doesn't work out.
It is probably for the best because 23-28 is such a short time and the two grandmothers have been planning for who will get the grandchildren (and Lori and me) to feed for dinner and which house we'll be sleeping at. With just 5 nights, they really plan to cram a lot of activities (and FOOD) into each day...and I can't break away too easily.
I could get to a lunch, but I think everyone is going to be too busy so that won't work out I think.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:15 pm
Jason - come on, you one young boy, you slept in Tuesday morning.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:16 pm
Kekoa

November 20th, 2008 at 9:19 pm
There's the Na Koa lunch on Monday....
November 20th, 2008 at 9:20 pm
Jason or Guy?
November 20th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
brew808,
That is a GREAT idea...I think I'll make it to that. Now, I've got to figure out which set of grandparents have us that day and what they are doing. Hopefully the plan won't be to go to the beach that day, since I'm the lifeguard for my kids.
I'll work hard on it, though...I need to be able to go to the Na Koa lunch!
November 20th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
The other thing is, Monday was going to be the day that I could meet with UH profs about collaboration efforts with my company. It could bring UH some money and bring work for my company...hard to schedule meetings during Thanksgiving week!
November 20th, 2008 at 9:27 pm
The Willows is just "down the road" from campus. Sounds like a full work day....

November 20th, 2008 at 9:34 pm
No rain in Central Oahu.
Looking at the NWS satellite images it looks like the real heavy stuff is still about 2-4 hours away from Oahu.
Looks like some nasty stuff around and over Kauai right now.
...and that's my meteorological report for tonight
November 20th, 2008 at 9:34 pm

November 20th, 2008 at 9:46 pm
6 teams from the pac 10 in top 10, two from the big 12, and Hawaii and penn state
November 20th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
Oooh - that's pretty awesome HiFlyer! It looks like it's tracking North and the bulk of it may just clip Oahu. No such luck for Kauai and people with new photovoltaic systems, new DISH systems, and a new car to keep clean!
November 20th, 2008 at 9:48 pm

Help me out here, please....

November 20th, 2008 at 10:00 pm
madeinhawaii,
I loved going to Showtime (Lakers) games at the Forum, and one thing I never stopped being amused about is how they would rent binoculars. During the game, I never saw people using those binoculars to focus on Magic, Kareem, or the rest of the players. However, during timeouts when the Laker Girls would perform, *all* of those binoculars would be immediately and coincidentally used...
November 20th, 2008 at 10:01 pm

Get two kine cheerleaders.
Well, maybe more, depending on to whom you speak.

Garret,
Better to get a camera with 10x optical or better than a binocular. OR get a dvr with 34x optical. You not only get to see the cheerleaders, you get to take them home with you.. ..well sort of... kind of...

November 20th, 2008 at 11:26 pm
jm2375,
Didn't Jason say the "odd" numbers were the puzzle? Nothing said of the even numbers.. though they may have a relationship to the odd ones. Eh... Even the even numbers look odd anyway. Which is kind of odd, even. Hmmm...

Thanks everyone for the weather reports around the corner and up your street!
Strange thing is...whenever weather people predict gloom and doom, they make it sound so immediate. They get people all worked up. Remember when the weather person on all the local stations was also the news anchor?
Now we get Doppler radar and satellite imagery. Whiz bang technology and 7 day forecasts. If you really like know, change da station to the weather channel...or do what I did and ask the Tsaiko Ohana. Not only did I get an adequate update of the weather around our island, but also the mainland Tsaiko's sent in their local report - Mahalo!
I, for one, think we should go back to the 2 minute overlay of the weather forecast on all the network stations. They could then spend more of the prime time on sports news. All of our sportscasters have to talk so fast now. They end up blasting the news at us so fast you have to rewind to make any sense of what Rob Demello just said!
RK is the exception. He keeps his report so mellow and low key with his auto-focus "I hope you're having yourself a wonderful evening/life" monotone. He's cool, and deserves more time to expand on his favorite subject.
Yes, it's seems that it is clearly the calm before the storm. I do hope everyone took precautions to batten the hatches and prepare for another wet, wild, wonderful football game at the stadium!
G'night everyone...and Garret...I hope to see you at the Na Koa Luncheon on Monday!...and Brew...keep those cards and letters coming in!

Looks like the storm front from the northwest has dissipated and any rain that we will get is coming from the tropical front from the south.

News story about SPAM!
An increase in the production and sales of Spam across the nation. Possibly attributed to harder financial times.
As one of the local newscasters said this morning, "That means Hawai'i has always been ahead of the curve in terms of finances or they just like their Spam."

Karl Benson is going to be on 1420 from 8-9 this morning, taking phone calls. I wonder if people going be nice to him or give him the tough questions that will make him uncomfortable??
November 21st, 2008 at 7:29 am
Good morning Tsai-kos!
Nice day so far.
Could someone please post Herr Benson's comments? I say let's make him uncomfortable. I'd like to see questions about the 1) bottom feeders and their possible demotion from D1A, 2) keeping the ponies in the WAC, 3) tv deals for football and basketball.
Thanks.
November 21st, 2008 at 7:33 am
I wonder if someone will ask him about Benson State University and his plan if they leave.
November 21st, 2008 at 7:42 am
wafan- that video is a story.
Back in the late 60's and 70's, music was my passion and we had a group called Ubiquitas that toured the US right out of high school. At the same time, a young man named Bob Gundry was doing the same thing and we crossed paths a couple of times.
Devon Gundry is his son. The adults in the video are my contemporaries- (and this may be one of the last works of Alex Rocco) Red Grammer, etc.
Andy Grammer is another young artist who is making his way. The last time I saw him was when he was about 4- Ukuleleboi was a year old. It was on the Big Island where the Baha'is and early childhood educators had sponsored a concert tour for his dad, Red Grammer. He made that tour- only weeks after Hurricane Iniki hit.
This video is for all who suffer...

Which is good, though. I was expecting power outages all day in Kaneohe.

November 21st, 2008 at 8:02 am
Good morning folks,
Hope all is fine and well. Its my saturday and the woman is sleeping still so I can blog and play my on-line game hehee...anyway..
One question about incoming recruits....wasn't there a friend of Malcolm lane that said he too might/will join the team? IIRC it was around the week of the NMSU game. Is he really coming to UHM and if he is, scholie offer? walk-on?
November 21st, 2008 at 8:12 am
Morning to all
Looks like the rain is coming, try to stay dry today everyone.
November 21st, 2008 at 8:15 am
Good Morning Tsaikoville! I hope everyone stays dry in Hawaii. I'm happy the sun is shinning here, even though it's in the mid 30's right now.
As far as recruits go, like I said before, I'll get excited on LOI day.

Good Morning Tsaiko Land Lubbers!
Benson and Hedges. Remember that cigarret brand? Kinda fits present company...Benson, who also Hedges. Especially around WAC hard ball questions.
Who ever gets thru on the phone today should also ask about the WACky Officials. We've all seen Pop Warner officials do a better job! Ask him when they are going to hold these people accountable for the BS calls that are captured on video that makes us all want to string 'em up!
November 21st, 2008 at 8:25 am

Good morning Tsaikos and Tsaikettes...gotta whoosh again today...lots to do...busy with work....
...and some punks smashed the back passenger window of my car, breaking into it...the jokes on them though, all they got was a bag with my stinky gym clothes in them....ha ha ha ha....
Still, it's gonna be a hassle getting the window fixed and re-tinted....dang, that just gets me all p'd off......

heads up...
vacations hawaii is now selling seats for UNLV week. They have 4 flight patterns on OMNI that were going for 759-769. That price i think is right below 800 now because many of them are already half full and the price bumps after so many people book.
They do have Hawaiian and Delta packages too but those are at least 900+
November 21st, 2008 at 9:06 am
That's why he was "smiling" making that comment.
November 21st, 2008 at 9:09 am
James: That sucks. Crazy what people do nowadays. Vandals (no pun intended, Idaho) broke into my church's building (but didn't get into our area) and trashed the soda machine in there. They cut the fuel line of our bus, stole the gas, and broke a window to get to some aluminum cans that we were going to redeem. We no longer park the bus on the church grounds because of that. And the Korean church got its bus' windshield destroyed, so they ended up getting a new mini-van to replace it.
But for all the bad stories, you hear good stories like this:
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=buffalo58
Buffalo should be going to a bowl game this year — maybe even the Hawai‘i Bowl, according to ESPN's projections. It would be nice to have the members of that '58 Buffalo team at the bowl game to be honored. It might be tough if it were here in Hawai‘i because of the costs, but still, that would be awesome.

thx bb, any word on packages linking seattle/pullman and vegas
sure sounds like its pretty guaranteed we're playing in seattle and wanna jump on those prices ASAP
November 21st, 2008 at 9:17 am
I have to remind my wife many times that she needs to hide her makeup bag under the chair or take it with her. Give them NO reason to bust in, even if it's just a measely makeup bag. Even if they don't take anything, like (J)J's case, you still have to hassle with the repairs to your door locks or windows.
November 21st, 2008 at 9:17 am
No word yet on pullman/vegas
and athe OMNI flights are closer to 900 now.
there are going to be a lot less seats going up to vegas with ATA and Aloha gone and it seems that Hawaiian knows this fact as well with their HNL-LAS pricing for that week.
November 21st, 2008 at 9:18 am
Well if any of you would like to trade weather conditions I would be more than happy too!!!!!!!!!
31 degrees, windy, with snow predicted for this evening, 2 to 4 inches.
putting on extra layer of clothes.

To me, that's BS. They are ripping off the people of Hawaii because they know that people will be going to the game. To their credit, they brought the fares down a little but still higher than normal. I understand they are in business to make money but I wish they would be fair to everyone. Their plane is going to be full and they will make money if they charge their regular fare.
