The Warrior Beat

On the move

September 29th, 2009

The Warriors have departed Dallas, by charter flight, and will spend tonight in Monroe, a 30-mile drive from Louisiana Tech's Ruston campus.

The Warriors had a spirited 45-minute workout at Trinity High this morning.

Trinity is known for its large Polynesian population and its use of the haka before football games. Check out this guy's T-shirt:

After practice, we were running late, so the media, a UH official and a couple of blog readers decided to eat at Bone Daddy's, a barbecue rib restaurant. Here are our waitresses:

UH spokesman Derek Inouchi said that, upon further review, the Warriors did not set the NCAA record for most sacks allowed in a season.

Soon after the completion of the 2008 Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl, UH officials announced that because of a miscalculation, the Warriors should have been credited with allowing two more sacks, giving them 59 for the season, an NCAA record. But after reviewing videos of every game, the original count proved to be right, meaning the Warriors should have been credited with 57 sacks allowed.
