Beau Yap commits to UH

January 31st, 2010

Beau Yap, The Advertiser's state Defensive Player of the Year, has accepted a football scholarship from the Warriors, according to his father, Boyd Yap.

Yap, a rush end from Kamehameha Schools, had made a commitment to Baylor last week. He visited Oregon State this weekend. But after returning today, he changed his mind and pledged a commitment to the Warriors.

Boyd Yap, once a Player of the Year, also played for UH in the early 1980s.
