Brown, Bright suspended for opener

August 29th, 2011

Starting linebacker Aaron Brown and left wideout Darius Bright have been suspended for Saturday's season-opening game against Colorado because of  their arrests Sunday following their alleged involvement in a fight in Waikiki.

Athletic director Jim Donovan and head coach Greg McMackin will continue to gather information before deciding whether the players may participate in the two-game road trip against Washington and UNLV.

Both players may resume practicing tomorrow. As part of their punishment, they must participate in team-disciplinary measures and perform community services.

During this morning's practice, middle linebacker Corey Paredes played weakside linebacker, Brown's starting position, and George Daily-Lyles replaced Paredes in the middle. Allen Sampson was at left wideout in place of Bright.
