The Warrior Beat

Tuesday's workout

September 6th, 2011

Today's update:

• Andrew Faaumu will get his second consecutive start at right guard.

• Right guard Chauncy Winchester-Makainai remains on crutches, but does not believe his sore right knee is seriously injured. He said he is not experiencing any sharp pains. It has not been decided whether he will be included on the travel roster.

• UH will continue to split snapping duties. Luke Ingram will handle punt snaps; Beau Yap will be used on PAT and FG snaps.

• Look for Kenny Estes to have an expanded role in the Washington game.

• Linebacker Aaron Brown and left wideout Darius Bright resumed practicing with the first units today. Bright and Allen Sampson are splitting time.

The Warriors might get a break from back-to-back road trips next year. The Warriors are scheduled to open the 2012 season with consecutive road games against USC Sept. 1 and BYU Sept. 8. But BYU is requesting to move that game to Sept. 29. The Warriors, who still are seeking a 13th regular-season opponent, would like to play a home game Sept. 8.
