Comeback plans

April 5th, 2012
By

Tui‘atua Tuiasosopo has been attending UH spring practices wearing a "recruit" name tag. If all goes according to plan, Tuiasosopo will be identified as a Warrior.

Tuiasosopo, a former All-State offensive lineman, is re-enrolling at UH this summer.

He had signed with UH in February 2008, redshirted that year and had a limited role in 2009, after which it was announced he had medically retired.

Tuiasosopo then went on a church mission.

A few months ago, he sought a comeback. According to his father, Ana, a former Warrior and NFL player, Tuiasosopo will join this summer. He appears to be in good shape. His training involves reps of 315 pounds.

Head coach Norm Chow said the Warriors might have a scrimmage during next Wednesday's morning practice.

The Warriors resume practicing this afternoon.

  21. A-House:

    Tui's name tag:

should it not be "former Warrior"?

he still counts for the class of 2008?

  22. Stephen Tsai:

We'll have videos once ScottM delivers our iPhones.

  23. d1shima:

    Great Scott! :-D

  24. Stephen Tsai:

    A-House:
It should, but it does say "recruit."
We didn't have a new roster at the time because UH didn't print enough. You can only lead some people to water ...

  25. d1shima:

Would a "pep talk" from Gregg Williams help the process?

  26. (Jesse) James:

    Good Morning Tsaikos!!!

    Have a great one today~~~

  27. kev-1:

I just got this funny image of Gregg Williams at a chicken fight with a stack of cash in his hands.

  28. jm2375:

    Good morning Tsaikos!

    Welcome back, Tui!

    GO BOWS! Beat dem Fresnecks!

We are in desperate need for Olinemen...

When spring started, Drew Uperesa was on the online roster now be is off.
Olds is off, Legay is hurt.
Ethan Mahaulu has moved from DE to OT.

  35. Kevin:

    It's gonna be a battle!!!

As of this morning, Hawaii time, Stephanie Ricketts dropped down from 24% of the vote at 1st place back to 18.5%, 3.1 percentage points down from 1st to 2nd.

YOU CAN VOTE EVERY DAY! YOU MUST VOTE EVERY DAY

  36. Pomai:

Cal bears pitcher is coming on strong in third place, now the question is are we going to let Bama and the bears beat Hawaii????? Vote today and everyday.

  38. Haleakala:

Okay I voted for Stephanie the last two days. I hate having to put in those letters and numbers. Even though this site is clearer than most, I still type it in wrong. On some sites you can barely tell what the letter or number is.

  39. Kevin:

Hawaii Softball is 3-2 over Alabama and CAL since May 2010 to today.

The players did their duties and NOW Stephanie Ricketts needs us to back her up!!!

    MOVE IT!!!!! NO EXCUSES!!!

    http://www.seniorclassaward.com/athletes/stephanie_ricketts/

  40. Kevin:

I think we're gonna need some extra assistance from some AUBURN fans on this one...

  41. SAWARRIOR:

Good luck to Tui. Now, what is up with Booby Miles leaving? It seems to becoming a bad trend for the men's basketball team.

  42. SAWARRIOR:

    Bobby* sry bout that

  43. kev-1:

Booby Miles . . . wasn't that the football player (character) from the movie Friday Night Lights?

  44. kev-1:

do we even have enough guys to fill a squad for our bball team now? I mean that sarcastically, but the serious question is do we have enough talent to put a squad on the floor that will win bball games?

  45. d1shima:

Booby was in Friday Night Lights, right?

    Go Panthers!

  46. d1shima:

I think Miles was an actual player. (in FNL, that is)

  47. Couch potato:

i heard of a Bobby Boucher. good linebacker.

  48. Kevin:

Ah crap... Arioto is REALLY picking up steam now.

Good news is Stephanie Ricketts (18%) is now only 1.8 percentage points away from #1, BUT Arioto is on our heels at 15.2% at 3rd.

    http://www.seniorclassaward.com/athletes/stephanie_ricketts/

  49. d1shima:

    We suck again!

  50. d1shima:

that was to CP, not Kevin.

  51. (Jesse) James:

CP...Yeah, he's the best linebacker I've seen since Joe Montana....

"Joe Montana is a quarterback you idiot."

    "I said Joe Mantegna....."

    MWAHAHAAHAHAHAHA

  52. madeinhawaii:

You guys aren't going to give him any slack for a spell, eh? LOL

  53. Stephen Tsai:

There's no doubt Gib can replenish the roster.
    He's a very capable recruiter.
In marketing, consistency and quality are the keys. With the changeovers, there is pressure to win immediately.

  54. Couch potato:

so far, i think basketball is a little behind the marketing scheme.

  55. SteveM:

    Good morning everyone!

Welcome back and good luck to Tui‘atua Tuiasosopo!

  56. Stephen Tsai:

The first year, you sell season tickets based on Gib as the new coach.
The second year, you sell based on the success of the first season.
After the scheduled and unscheduled losses, you have to sell the newcomers.

  57. Stephen Tsai:

You know how companies always ask: How did you hear about us?
    I relate it to softball.
If it were not for Kevin, Pomai, Ralph, Stretch and, yes, even Steve, would the public have this much knowledge and awareness about Wahine softball?
I get UH blasts on Twitter, Facebook, etc., but Ricketts' campaign only resonated because of Kevin's constant updates.
And I learn from Steve about radio/TV schedules.
Does anyone else think that UH should hire fans to do the marketing?

  58. madeinhawaii:

I hear Malia Cravens is leaving the wahine basketball team, too.

  59. Bulla:

    TUI

CRUSADERS FOR LIFE; WELCOME BACK, NO SKED 'EM GO GET 'EM :)

  60. Couch potato:

you can market all you like but in the end if the product is not successful then lose money.

yeah, use fans, create that grassroots network to get the word out or promote the respective sport. i mean if they no can decide where to start then may as well start with the fans. use the resources you already have. then maybe down the line some light bulbs will turn on and they'll see the bigger picture better.

i'm rambling, time for eat something.

  61. madeinhawaii:

Car dealerships use their customer base... why not Athletics?

  62. Couch potato:

the Pacer and Gremlin customer base never work out too good, no one wanted to admit they bought a Pacer or Gremlin.

  63. Wes'side Warrior:

    Howzit, everyone!

Keep them Stephanie Ricketts votes coming!

Looking forward to another Tuiasosopo name on a Warrior jersey!

And a bit off-topic for those "into" music and loud... Jim Marshall (y'know... Marshall Amps) died earlier today.

  64. Couch potato:

marketing should send a Ricketts vote link to every uh email account.

  65. madeinhawaii:

I had a Marshall amp... a Peavey too... I remember how we all used to collect Altec Lansing speakers. RIP Jim Marshall... Those amp made a lot of people rich and changed our world.

  66. madeinhawaii:

    and Jensen speakers, too.

  67. Kevin:

31-3… and you've never heard about em.

When UH played on NATIONAL TV and blew out NMSU, our local TV news showed TWO highlights off of the many many clips they could have used. The team was 27-3 at the time and nationally ranked (still is).. Softball took up 1 minute and 25 seconds.

The next clip was an un-televised non-conference game at the Les and with their cameras on location, they had 4 clips and an interview. Segment was nearly 4 minutes.

It's a popularity contest, NO rewards for success.

In a way a part of me really likes it. It has that **** you all feel to it. Kick okole, take names, while the rest of the world is clueless and sleeping worrying about Tebow fitting in at NY. It feels like an exclusive underground scene.

  68. Hon2255:

Bulla. Was your son a olineman at new mex st?

  69. A-House:

    J Thomas & B. Miles:

perhaps their decision to leave UH was the reason why my friend saw them at 2:30am in the Orleans after the Idaho game, but before the New mexico St game which UH lost.

Best wishes to them in the future.

  70. madeinhawaii:

    Hon2255

Da Beast is a Defensive Tackle for Weber State University. Many here were hoping and thinking he'd be playing at UH, but for some reason it didn't pan out. He's a highly touted, valued player at Weber State, though. He's finishing up next season.

  71. d1shima:

    jmxxxx has a neighbor!

  72. Kevin:

    After a quick phone call...

MAHALO TO THOSE AT A CERTAIN VW DEALERSHIP FOR THEIR VOTES!!!

Stephanie Ricketts is NOW half a percentage point away from tying for 1st place!!!

Val Arioto has been at 15.5% for a while now at 3rd.

    http://www.seniorclassaward.com/athletes/stephanie_ricketts/

  73. kev-1:

    Kevin,

I must commend you on your efforts to keep us informed about all things Wahine softball. I have to admit that I never paid attention to them before, but have grown into a fan after a few years following this blog, and now the team. I appreciate your passion too.

  74. kev-1:

Ralph . . . you too. I appreciate your updates too.

  75. madeinhawaii:

    Kevin,

If we can keep Ricketts close through the day, she should take a solid lead after tonight when Bama fans go to sleep...

  76. Stephen Tsai:

Every UH student, professor and employee has a UH e-mail account (now run by Google). I would think that the UH athletic department could somehow tap into that and send out notices — not a flood, but some significant ones — to everyone with a UH account.

  77. duffer:

    Would that be spamming? :-)

  78. wafan:

Maybe there is hope for UH to keep their TV contract?

Would BYU reconsider their conference membership if they were also able to keep their TV contract?

  79. kev-1:

UH needs to pair with the media to get the word out. It needs to be a joint effort. Focusing on the UH students should only be part of the goal. They need to find ways to get the broader public paying attention.

Idea . . . Hold an attention getting event. Here's the plan. Invite the media to a news conference. Don't tell them it is for softball. Just leak that there will be a big announcement from lower campus. Once they show up, the presser will be a challenge to the public.

The challenge? A homerun derby. If you think you can hit a homerun off of our nationally ranked, 31-3 Wahine pitchers, step up to the plate. Heck, make it a family event and include faces and names from all UH sports. Kind of like a meet and greet of UH athletes and coaches, all while celebrating the softball team.

  80. Ralph:

and to think Jim Donovan has a Masters degree in Marketing from UH.....UH athletics has a marketing arm, JD needs to start pushing the right buttons and get it to operate on a timely basis.

  81. kev-1:

    . . . and televise it too.

  82. kev-1:

of course, such an event is more fit for pre-season as to avoid injury. But it would be exciting.

  83. Kevin:

    The race is getting SERIOUS.

    Valerie Arioto 16.8%
    Katelyn Boyd 5.9%
    Mallory Duran-Sellers 6%
    Julie Fernandez 4%
    Ashley Hansen 4.8%
    Michelle Moultrie 10.5%
    Christi Orgeron 9.7%
    Cassie Reilly-Boccia 18.2%
    Stephanie Ricketts 18%
    Niki Williams 6.2%

  84. Kekoa:

Problem is, Kevin, Pomai, Ralph et al, have done the heavy lifting for the past few years with no response in kind from the UH administration or UH foundation. The rest of the Tsaiko's have stepped up at times to raise a little travel money, and awards. We all had a hand in pumping the crowd for donations to the *Jug.* Surprisingly, the response was always provided positive cash flow...even from our opponents (like Fresno).

Most don't mind doing it, but please help us out here campus leaders! Give us more compliance things we can do to provide more funds. Don't just rely on a cash strapped Legislature for handouts.

  85. Steve:

Kevin, need to keep an eye on the weather in Provo, for Friday's game. Do not know if they will be able to play the game. Weather, calling for rain and snow, with a high of 43 and low of 32.

  86. Kevin:

    Kev-1,

The money actually isn't for travel. UH pays for travel.

Someone once asked me if the money donated at games plus other booster funds were used to feed the players and coaches while on the road and that is NOT the case. Travel per diems are part of the annual budget.

Apparently some programs don't get per diems and meals are coordinated per the coaches, also as part of their travel budget.

One of the former players last season transfered from another program and was suprised to see that each player got cash per diems. She loved it, but she was used to having their meals planned out at her previous school.

Its all the same, it's money allocated from the travel budget. No one is left starving on the road.

  87. Kekoa:

    Shout out to Mrs 'C'...

Please crank up the Pink Ladies network and ask them to please vote for Steph tonite!

    http://www.seniorclassaward.com/athletes/stephanie_ricketts/

    Leave No Doubt!

  88. Couch potato:

who is Ralph et al? a middle easterner? blog terrorist?

  89. Kevin:

    Kekoa,

The Dollars for Dingers/Kokua For Ks was almost a hassle to start. AKA and marketing had to wait on UH compliance. Compliance's MAIN concern was to make sure that the pledge amounts were NOT specific to individual players (i.e. X amount of $$$ for each HR or K by a certain player only). We NEVER meant it to be that way anyway and the objective was to feature the complete TEAM stats at the end of the year which puts this into complete NCAA compliance.

But it was easy to get it going and its been in H-Mail and been plugged on the Sports Animals and Manoa Underground Radio.

  90. Kekoa:

That's what I mean Kevin. Why couldn't they have started something for the Wahine before? The program lay dying for years before key Tsaiko's came along dusted it off and got it going.

Not to mention the hoops to jump thru for the sale of simple corporate signage around the RWSS. When is that going to happen? Compliance...uh huh.

  91. Kekoa:

CP @#88...that's big Al, our blog bird trainer.

  92. Kekoa:

Ok...time to take my Meds and get back on my ceded lands.

  93. Derek:

Is Gerry Blakes still in the picture? What about Stevens and Biggs? Main thing Arnold can get shooters with ball handling ability. Oh yeah, I hope they can shoot free throws well too.
Good luck to Bobby Miles! Is Shamburger in the picture too?

  94. jm2375:

    hmmmm... veddy, veddy interesting

UH football may keep TV deal with conference network demise
The Mtn. television network will shut down next month, possibly opening a door for the University of Hawaii to keep its lucrative pay-per-view operations for the 2012 football season.

The Mtn. is being shut down May 31 by its owners, NBC Sports and CBS Sports Network, who hold the Mountain West Conference TV contract, the conference said today.

  95. Kevin:

    This is really IRRITATING now...

    Valerie Arioto 17.3%
    Katelyn Boyd 5.9%
    Mallory Duran-Sellers 5.9%
    Julie Fernandez 4%
    Ashley Hansen 4.8%
    Michelle Moultrie 10.4%
    Christi Orgeron 9.6%
    Cassie Reilly-Boccia 18.1%
    Stephanie Ricketts 17.9%

  96. 3-Prong:

I voted. Need to get Bobby C and the Sports Animals to promote voting site.

  97. Couch potato:

"Fan balloting counts for 1/3 of the total with the remaining 2/3 determined by NCAA Division I coaches and national media members."

no worry. it's not entirely a fan popularity contest.

  98. RedZone:

For the interested coach Gib Arnold is scheduled to be a guest on the Animals today.

  99. Kevin:

"2/3 determined by NCAA Division I coaches and national media members."

Hawaii fans SHOULD worry. We gotta do our part still yet.

  100. Vitamin D:

Greeting from over the ocean. excellent blog I must return for more.

  101. madeinhawaii:

That Valerie Arioto from Cal with 17.3% of the votes came out of nowhere real fast. Going to be a race to the finish line.

  102. Couch potato:

there's nothing to worry about. it's an honor to be nominated as a candidate and if she wins it would be icing on the cake. it won't be the end of the world (till december) if she doesn't win.

being recognized as a finalist shows that she excels on the field, in the classroom, in the community, and is a person of notable character. this in itself shows that the nationwide media is aware of Stephanie's accomplishments throughout her college career.

no question, as fans of Rickett's we will do our best to support her as we did with Kanani. all we can do is our part and hopefully the coaches and media concurs with us.

  103. Ipu Man:

The voting is rigged for Lowe's women softball.
I voted yesterday but today it says I already voted today
and to come back "tomorrow". Grrrrrr....

  104. madeinhawaii:

Ipu Man, I don't know how the system works, but I can vote once on my wired computer and once on my wireless one.

  105. Da Punchbowl Kid:

Headin' out to practice. Hope to see some o' yas there.

  106. RedZone:

    Ricketts tied at 18%.

  107. Kevin:

    Ipu Man,

They prefer to manufacture your votes and not "vote for the fence" everytime.

  108. RedZone:

I clear browser data and can vote as much as I want to. It does take a while tho.

  109. Kevin:

    Valerie Arioto 17.6%
    Katelyn Boyd 5.9%
    Mallory Duran-Sellers 5.8%
    Julie Fernandez 3.9%
    Ashley Hansen 4.7%
    Michelle Moultrie 10.5%
    Christi Orgeron 9.6%
    Cassie Reilly-Boccia 17.8%
    Stephanie Ricketts 18.2%
    Niki Williams 5.9%

Arioto is really irritating.. well, her voting standing not her personally. Nice girl actually and CAL's head coach is a class act. ALL class in defeat and ALL class in victory, but this is business... need to fend off Arioto!!!!

  110. RedZone:

    Ricketts now lead at 18.2%

  111. Ipu Man:

I did hit the refresh button (twice) but it did not help.
I do have another wired computer under a slightly
different name, so will try that. Thanks guys, gals...

  112. jm2375:

Ipu Man - you gotta clear your cache, not just refresh. Otherwise, I think you can vote every 24 hrs.

  113. jm2375:

Wasn't there something with the volleyball vote about "robot voting"? Is that the thing with the Cal player?

  114. madeinhawaii:

I tried different browsers yesterday, didn't work.. hmmm...

  115. Kevin:

18.6... I CAN DO THIS ALL DAY..

    ONE PHONE
ONE CLICK, TWO CLICKS, THREE CLICKS..

    ALL DAY..

    EVERY DAY...

    GO NIGHTY NIGHT!!!!

  116. Kevin:

    18.7 - Ricketts
    18.2 - Arioto...

    They want a FIGHT!!!

  117. Not an Expert:

The jouney of people being athletes.

    1) At a young age playing to have fun. Everyone given a chance to participate. Winning not important.

    2) Getting older and playing to win or to make an all-star team competition starts to set in. The better athletes gets more playing time and looked up to, those on the bottom feels left out. The start of attrition.

    3) Playing at the older ages and through high school the better players survive. Many are good in their communities and high school leagues and start to believe they are the next stars of college or the pro leagues. Greater attrition continues at the next level/

    4) Going to college and playing many have not been bench warmers or non starters. Some believe they are the best or better than the players starting before them. Some cannot handle the adjustments. Attrition continues or change of scenery to get more playing time elsewhere at lower competition.

    5) Next step pros. Greatest attrition happens from college to pros.

Athlete's journies end at all different stages in their lives. Some can deal with it and move on positively others may not be able to handle. For UH basketball just added drama since the quitting is happening a lot more over the last 2 years. There is the player's story, the coach's story and the real story in between. Every story is reality for all sides.

I just voted 3 times. To vote more than once you have to clear the cookies from your cache.

  119. Couch potato:

i don't think cookies are in your cache. if they were then you would just need to delete cache.

  120. Couch potato:

but yeah, you need to delete cache, cookies and other site-plugins (for chrome).

  121. kev-1:

okay . . . I let my stupidity hide for too long. what is a cache? is that the same thing as browser? I am so damn computer stupid.

  122. kev-1:

wait a minute . . . did I just hear a bunch of people say "we already knew you were stupid, you're not hiding anything" or is that just in my head?

  123. Couch potato:

cache is not a browser. what browser are you using?

  124. kev-1:

    Internet Explorer?

  125. SteveM:

It is probably a cookie for the voting.
Cookies are stored by the browser application and accessed via the browser Preferences...under "Security" usually.

You can delete individual ones or nuke them all.
Keep in mind that there are some good, helpful cookies mixed in there too.

  126. Couch potato:

    ummm, what version of ie?

  127. Kaimuki Kid:

    kev-1

If you have a Windows PC look on the tool bar and click on tools , then internet options, and then delete browsing history, cookies, passwords etc. then you should be good to go. I voted 5 times.

  128. Couch potato:

ie is different, stay under tools, internet options, general, delete

depending on version you need to deselect and select what you want or don't want.

    thanks guys . . . its working

  133. SteveM:

    RE: #121
kev-1 -- a (web) browser is an application like Firefox, IE, Safari, Chrome, etc.

Each browser has a "cache" in which it stores data like graphics, text, etc. in order to faster display a web page if you go back to it a second time. The cache can be turned off completely or you can specify how hard drive space you wish to allow for storing this old info. Sometimes bad data could be in the cache that causes problems--merely clearing the cache remedies that.

The browser can also store "cookies" -- which are written by web sites when you visit them. You can set your browser (in preferences) to not allow cookies of to allow under certain conditions. As I noted in #125, there are good helpful cookies and bad cookies--the worse of which are spyware or other malware.

Safari and Firefox has a menu command to nuke everything--cache, cookies, etc. Not sure about Internet Explorer and others, but should be there too. Going into Preferences will allow selective removal.

  134. kev-1:

ewagirl . . . oh heck yes! guilty.

  135. madeinhawaii:

But guys you don't understand, I used Chrome the first time around.. then went to Opera, no dice.. then to Mozilla Firefox... no dice. .. and then i.e.... Still no dice. Except for Chrome and I.E., I don't believe they share the same cache, cookies, etc.

  136. Couch potato:

    oreos are bad cookies.

    whole wheat cookies are better.

  137. kev-1:

Actually, I know a little, just not what things are called (the technical names). I'm more of a "the thing" or "dakine" kind of guy. My kids are constantly getting on me when I say "go get dakine and bring it here." "Bring what?" "You know, the thing."

  138. kev-1:

whole wheat cookies? why waste your time?

  139. kev-1:

you guys have a nice afternoon. somebody break some news on here by the time I check later would ya?

  140. Couch potato:

ok den, no use make light beer. lol

madeinhawaii, could be adobe flash saved the same plugins. just a thought.

  141. haka:

not sure if this better for some in i.e or not,
but i find it a little faster to clear the cookies and vote like this

open command prompt and type in (or copy/paste)
    RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 2
    Hit enter
arrow back on web page and vote again

hit f3 in command prompt and enter to start it all again and again and again...

    let's go steph!

  142. madeinhawaii:

Okay... I found what needs to be deleted to reset your browsers..

For, I.E., Chrome, and Mozilla in Windows 7, you need to search your user directory for these two folders and delete them.

    http://www.seniorclassaward.com

    For Opera:
Delete these two files in the 'Opera\profiles\icons' folder

    http%3A%2F%2Fwww.seniorclassaward.com%2Fimages%2Ffavicon.png
    http://www.seniorclassaward.com.idx

  143. madeinhawaii:

If you use your "file search" feature on your explorer, you can just search for "seniorclassaward.com" and delete the files you find.

  144. jiminy cricket:

Anybody knows what is really going on with Gib Arnold and the UH program?

  145. d1shima:

    *burp*

I tink I wen clear out all da cookies.

  146. d1shima:

    Gibby crack Korn and Ainokea

  147. d1shima:

    Nevah work.

Must still get some cookies someplace...I go check

  148. RedZone:

Coach Gib Arnold on 1420 now.

  149. RedZone:

They are still trying to get a hold of coach Gib.

  150. slenzi:

Wow, Tsaikos, #141 haka: is correct. This is so easy on a Windows 7 PC.

Under PROGRAMS, open ACCESSORIES, open COMMAND PROMPT and type in (or copy/paste) RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 2,
then hit ENTER. Do not close the COMMAND PROMPT window, but go back to the Steph Ricketts vote page and hit the refresh button to bring up a fresh voting box, and simply vote again, and again, wash-rinse-repeat, haka you da man!

Go back to the COMMAND PROMPT window that you left open and hit F3, then enter to start it all again and again and again...all you have to do on the ESPN vote page is REFRESH.

    let's go steph!

  151. Kevin:

Gib Arnold leaving UH to be closer to home?

  152. slenzi:

Very exciting about Tui making a comeback. Loved watching him play at St Louis and wrestling too. Here's too his good health and happiness as a Warrior.

  153. madeinhawaii:

    slenzi,

Easier you just do a file search of your user name in documents and settings... just search for:

    seniorclassaward.com

and delete the files you find. ... vote.. hit search again, if it doesn't automatically pop back up... delete.. refresh and vote again.

That way you don't have to input your password and member id at all the places you regularly frequent all over again.

  154. RedZone:

I use Chrome. I just go to preferences. Then under Settings select "under the hood". Then "clear browsing data". In the "clear browsing data" window I uncheck all except for "Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data". Click on the "clear browsing data" button. That's it.

Gib Arnold coming up next according to animals.

  155. madeinhawaii:

Okay.. Stephanie is back in front!

  156. RedZone:

You can just keep the "under the hood" window open in case you want to do it over again.

  157. RedZone:

    Gib finally on right now.

  158. slenzi:

Searched for Tui on Facebook and sent him a congrats note! I'm not on his friend list, but he has a great picture album open to public, and he looks very, very fit. If he looks like that and is still close to his old weight of 300 pounds, then Coach should send everyone on mission to prep for football.

  159. haka:

Great to hear Ricketts is ahead!

    Go Warriors & Wahine!

  164. JIN:

#166 Sorry, you must repeat this procedure to vote each time.

  170. Ipu Man:

Okee-Dokee...Finally I could vote. Evidently, yesterday, I voted
around this time, so the 24 hour rule kicked in. And I could vote.
But I also voted on my other wired computer ok, too. So I will be
a two gun slinger every day about this time. Don't want to try to
    clear ca$h...

  171. tommui:

Needless to add, you "plunk" i.e.vote only for Stephanie.

  172. Ipu Man:

    When does the voting end?
And anybody else with an all over body ache like the flu?
This weather definitely is not Hawaii. But better than Texas

  176. madeinhawaii:

I think the voting ends on the 14th..
As of yesterday, France is getting a lot of cloud cover again. They had two nice weeks of sun, though.

  177. mo808:

I'll be getting my big sis "hand me down" IPad soon as she has recently upgraded to IPad 3. Something's never change with siblings...maybe, I'll be able to SEE and read better!

  178. madeinhawaii:

That's the main reason I keep to the simplest phones I can find. I can't see the keys well enough to do much else with them. And I have a bad habit of scratching the glass on those portable touch screens, anyway.

  179. jm2375:

mo808 - I will get my kid's iPad in August, when she gets a new one issued by her school. There's something wrong with this picture...

Wasn't the Mountain West TV contract the major stumbling block in getting Notre Dame this year??? Jim get on the horn and make it happen!

  184. Ralph:

OT my UH athletics video and you tube is malfunctioning, I receive the audio but all I see is a green screen. I ran a tune up but still no video. any suggestions. I haven't tried system restore yet, next option.

  186. Ralph:

    Raisins - :( :(

  188. Ralph:

MIH I found solution by googling....right click green screen, go to settings and then disengage hardware accelerator. video back on.

  189. madeinhawaii:

    Ah.. great..
I was going to suggest that you just reboot.

  190. madeinhawaii:

With hardware acceleration off, it's a tad slower.. but if you have enough ram, it should be negligible for the most part.

  191. jm2375:

    Congrats to the Bows!! 8-2!

  192. Ralph:

    MIH 6 GB of RAM

  193. madeinhawaii:

    Always good to beat Fresno!

  194. oldtimer808:

I noticed that tonight our Mr Leahy had a lot of problems keeping up with the game. Maybe less talking and more paying attention will create less errors in identifying who did what. Good first game of the series against Fresno State...Go Bows.

  200. Slugger:

    I vote!

  201. Ralph:

okay, you can do #2, Stephanie is pass 23%

  202. 3-Prong:

Anybody know how to view Lowes results on an iPhone. Can't seem to find it.

  203. madeinhawaii:

6GB should be alright... but I would try to activate hardware acceleration after the next time you reboot. If you experience the same problems. Open your video card's panel and see if you can update the driver or re-install the same one. One of the files may have gotten corrupted.

  204. R Smoke:

Is Lutu on scholarship? I know he was a walk-on at both basketball and football initially, but I wasn't sure if he had been given a scholarship now. I remember an article or blog by Tsai that indicated he had asked the previous coaches about being placed on scholarship but was told he needed to prove he was worth it on the field first. Now that he's playing with the first team, it seems he's probably earned a scholarship at this point.

Anyway, just curious on his status?

  205. slenzi:

Thought Lutu got his scholie last year, but i'm old and periodically suffer from CRS - can't rember stuff.

  206. Cheap Football Boots:

I was very impressed with film footage on Ikaika. Everthing still looks good to me.
Guess having a herd of QB's helps.

  220. d1shima:

    Great Morning All!

    Have a reflective Good Friday.

  221. Da Punchbowl Kid:

    Voted! ;)

Saw Tui at practice yesterday. Looks like he's in great shape. I would say that the 315#s mentioned above is a an understatement... He's been working hard, by the looks of him.

Chow runs a very nice practice. Players look motivated, focused and well coached at each position.

Awesome to see brother Neal Ane at the field.

Special aloha to Grampa Sai, too.

  222. Slugger:

    Good morning, gang!
