The Warrior Beat

It's a wrap

December 3rd, 2012

It was quite the luau last night — an event to mark the end of the 2012 season and the start of the offseason program.

As expected, cornerback/returner Mike Edwards was named the Warriors' most valuable player.

Edwards has come a long way from when he first joined the Warriors in the summer of 2011. For the second year in a row, he played through an injury. But this year he showed his overall skills as an open-field tackler, breakaway returner and, more importantly, team leader.

The  offense was inconsistent this year.

Center Ben Clarke was not.

Clarke was one of the youngest on a young offensive line. He also was one of the most responsible. He was never late for a meeting or practice. And he had a darn good season. He was deserving of being named the Warriors' top offensive player.

Paipai Falemalu and Haku Correa were deserving winners as co-defensive players of the year.
