February 24th, 2013

R.J. Hollis, an offensive lineman from Scottsdale College, has made an oral commitment to play for the Warriors in 2013.

Hollis, who completed his visit this morning, will sign his letter of intent tomorrow.

Hollis is 6 feet 3 and 290 pounds.

By committing to UH, he is turning down visits to Cincinnati and Illinois. Washington also has expressed interest.

Hollis will have four years to play three UH seasons.

Thinking ahead, the Warriors already are trying to make plans for training camp in August.

Because of the summer-session schedule, the Warriors need to live on campus for at least a week. With the high price of renting dorm rooms, there is a possibility the Warriors could spend a week living in the UH dance studios.

The Warriors would like a return to a military base for the second half of training camp. That situation worked out well last year for the Warriors, with the rates affordable and military association immeasurable.
