UH lands punter; Junior Day

Ruben Guzman, a punter from Riverside College, has made an oral commitment to play for the Warriors.

Guzman averaged 42.7 yards per punt, with a long of 73 yards.He said his average hang time was 4.6 seconds per punt last season.

The twist? He's a left-footed punter.

Guzman sent UH his transcripts and other documents. He said he will sign his letter of intent after his recruiting trip to Hawaii next week.

The state's top 2014 prospects will be touring UH this afternoon as part of the Warriors' Junior Day.

Former UH corner/returner Mike Edwards has decided to do most of his training in Cleveland in preparation for the March 19 pro day in San Diego.

After competing at the NFL scouting combine this past week, Edwards spent a few days training in Miami with the son of NFL Hall of Fame receiver Cris Carter.

Training in Cleveland, where he was raised, allows Edwards to spend time with his sons.
