WR/DB commits to UH

March 3rd, 2013

The Warriors appeared to have finished off their 2013 recruiting after securing a verbal commitment from Kwamane Bowens, a receiver/cornerback from Salem High in Virginia Beach.

Bowens is 6 feet 1 and 174. He was recruited by several schools, including Virginia Tech.

Bowens, who completed his UH visit this morning, will sign his letter of intent this week.

Junior Day was a success with about 75 prospects touring the Manoa campus and attending an orientation on the Warrior football program.

The food must be better these days because there were some imposing prospects. One even had a beard.

Another Junior Day is scheduled during spring training.

Kalaheo's Kainoa Frank, one of the state's top all-around athletes, already has made a commitment to play for the volleyball Warriors.

The Warriors play Cal State Northridge in a rematch today at 5 p.m. in the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Warriors are hopeful that outside hitter JP Marks will be available. On Friday, he missed the first match of his UH career because of an upper-respiratory infection.
