It is no secret that valuables, uh, often disappear at UH.
Arena director Rich Sheriff made sure to provide extra security measures for the recent Hawaii Regional Robotics competition in the Stan Sheriff Center. He changed the locks to rooms used for storage, and gave the keys only to the event's organizers. Campus Security, arena employees, school administrators and, even, Sheriff did not have access to those rooms.
It's sad that it's come to this. But until McGarrett can solve the "disappearances" that have gone on for several years on the Lower Campus, the key might be as simple as changing the locks.

Men's volleyball is one of the few sports in which the alumni often enter as the favorites in matches against the varsity. It was that case yesterday, when the alumni's roster was peppered with All-Americans and a couple of former national-team members.
The alumni won, two sets to one, but the score wasn't the point.
"It was about bridging the alumni and the current players," said Sean Carney, who organized the event. Carney has an Asics on both sides. He's a former player and current assistant coach.
