What's next for Manley?

May 8th, 2013

Because of what's reported as a family situation, former Leilehua quarterback Andrew Manley has requested — and received — a release from his New Mexico State scholarship.

What's next for Manley, who will be a fourth-year junior this fall but might be eligible for an exemption allowing him to transfer without redshirting?

And do those plans involve UH?

While the search initiates for a successor to UH president MRC Greenwood, it is important to remember that her boss' job will be vacated first.

Eric Martinson's term as chairman of the Board of Regents expires next month. Unlike the president's search, the chair is selected from among the current regents by the current regents. With three departing, the pool contains 12 candidates. But there doesn't appear to be much jousting. While the chair is the most influential position in the UH system, it probably is the most thankless job. Here's the abbreviated specs: Long hours, no pay, lots of scrutiny. Any takers?

Remember former UH cornerback Lewis Walker?

After leaving UH, he attended Utah to be closer to his family in Salt Lake City.

He earned a degree there, and now he's on the move again — to play pro football in Sweden. The answer to many questions — there's football in Sweden? — can be found in Walker's journal, which can be found here: Journal.
