The Rainbow Warriors are experimenting with different lineups on the offensive line, with Leo Koloamatangi and David Griffin expected to have expanded roles for the road game against Oregon State. Their specific duties have yet to be determined.
Griffin transferred from Mesa Community College in January. Koloamatangi, a second-year freshman, redshirted in 2012. Both are noted for their long arms, effective punches and agile footwork.
UH head coach Norm Chow said another asset is both "are angry." Translation: Both could provide an emotional boost to a line that allowed seven sacks against USC.
The Warriors used seven offensive linemen against USC. Frank Loyd Jr. and Koloamatangi were summoned after left tackle Sean Shigematsu suffered a bone bruise on his right ankle. (Shigematsu practiced yesterday, and should be OK for Saturday's game.)
