The Warrior Beat

Mild Monday

September 9th, 2013

On Saturday, the Rainbow Warriors had an off day against Oregon State.

Today, they have a day off. (The Warriors have a bye this weekend.)

When they resume with a light practice tomorrow, wide receiver Billy Ray Stutzmann and offensive lineman Dejon Allen will get opportunities to earn extended playing time. Stutzmann, who missed all of training camp because of a concussion suffered in a July car accident, was not on the 66-player travel roster this past weekend. Allen rotated between the offensive and defensive lines before finding a home on offense.

Linebacker Brenden Daley, safety/long-snapper Kawika Borden and safety Trayvon Henderson suffered injuries against OSU. Those three — as well as running back Joey Iosefa, tight end Jordan Pu‘u-Robinson and defensive tackle Kennedy Tulimasealii — are expected to be ready for the Sept. 21 road game against Nevada.

The Warriors will have full practices on Wednesday and Thursday.

There will be a scrimmage on Friday involving players who are redshirting or have not had a lot of playing time this season. Quarterback Ikaika Woolsey and running back Diocomey Saint Juste are expected to be the featured players.

What's the biggest attraction to Oregon State? It's the facilities. They're not just better than UH's. They're 10 times better.
