Former UH defensive back Charles Clay won't be going home for a while.
After acing his tryout this past weekend, Clay signed a three-year contract with the Green Bay Packers.
"This is a contract of opportunity," said John Perez, Clay's New Jersey-based agent.
Clay was not selected in this year's NFL draft. But he did well enough at UH's pro day to earn an audition at the Packers' rookie mini-camp this past week. Clay now is enrolled in the Packers' rookie orientation program.
Clay will remain in Green Bay through mid-June, when the Packers have a three-week break ahead of the opening of training camp.

The Daley Report:
Former UH linebacker Brenden Daley, who completed rookie camp with the Falcons yesterday, will remain in Georgia until June 29. He said today is an off day for the rookies, but he plans to focus on football. An avid beach-goer in Hawaii, Daley said: "I'm only diving into my playbook now."
