Wittek still interested

June 20th, 2014

According to people in the know, former USC quarterback Max Wittek remains interested in transferring to UH.

The Warriors apparently have yet to decide on a move. They are pleased with their quarterbacks and the offense's chemistry. In the revised situation, Wittek would have to redshirt this year, after which 2015 would be his only remaining season to play.

The Warriors have five quarterbacks on their summer roster. Taylor Graham and Jeremy Higgins are fifth-year seniors who complete their eligibility at the end of the 2014 season. Aaron Zwahlen, who is currently on a church mission, joins the Warriors next summer.

UH, Texas and Louisville were among the schools recruiting Wittek when it appeared he would earn a bachelor's degree last month. As a graduate, Wittek would have been able to transfer without redshirting in 2014 and have two years to play two seasons. Wittek learned he will need another semester to earn a degree, thus reducing his eligibility to one season — 2015 — at another school.

After announcing his intent to transfer earlier this year, Wittek was removed from USC's roster this spring.
